After several years of preparation, North Korean art is being shown in Berlin for the first time. These are works from the Mansudae studio in Pyongyang, in which the artists deal with the landscapes of their country, above all with mountains and water. The gentle motifs are antithetical to the force of nature and the political situation, both of which resonate in the encounter with art. The exhibition kicked off with the Long Night of Museums.

For the first time, two North Korean artists were able to travel to Germany with the help of galerie son to work in a studio in Berlin for a few months. The results of this highly unlikely work opportunity were subsequently shown in an exhibition of the same name. North and South Korean art are exhibited together to bring about a cultural encounter.

Four times the gallery participated in the Long Night of Museums, as the only private gallery among established museums. For the first time in 2011 it was part of the program and exhibited works by Johannes Heisig, which were also part of the exhibition at the Willy Brandt House. In 2012, the gallery showed Junggeun Oh (Zwischenräume Gendarmenmarkt) and landscape paintings from North Korea (Mansudae. Landscapes from Pyongyang). In 2013, holograms by Franco Maurina were shown.

The Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin and galerie son are jointly organizing an art project in which several artists selected by the gallery will paint objects from the manufactory in order to create a unique work of art (combining craftsmanship and fine art).
